This is technically my first post.

I've had this website since 2016 and its purpose was mainly as an online resume. I've never had any illusions about LinkedIn or Facebook being free alternatives, so paying for my own domain seemed the correct course of action. Since its creation, the world has undergone a stress test with COVID, I had to shut down a company, and I found refuge in a most unlikely employer. Still, I am pleased to have made my 60th trip around the sun in relatively good health.

I often joke that I can't believe we're still eating food to fuel our biological machines. It would be so much easier if our existence were digitally encoded, even if those digits were Qubits. If our bodies, our vessels, were design-stance mechanisms that supplied a means to manifest intentional-stance code, then we could survive off sunlight or geothermal heat. (See Dennett's "Kinds of Minds" for elucidation.)

Eventually, we will forego the animalistic ritual of eating for sustenance and eat solely for pleasure and to relish in the experience, similar to how our reproductive behavior is no longer solely procreative. As we merge more completely with the Technium, we become the Omega point that Pierre Teilhard de Chardin had reasoned. The noosphere, not as a pinnacle of biological evolution, but as an offshoot of it. (See "What Technology Wants" by Kevin Kelly.)

So back to the purpose of this website. If you have read this post to this point, then you are clearly part of its purpose and in me informing you so explicitly, I can only hope you are not offended to have the spotlight so brazenly cast back into your eyes. I hope you return often and continue to realize the proper function for which something exists.
